Winter or summer, without doubt a visit to Norfolk's stunning beaches is top of the list for our guests and a 20 minute drive will deliver you to any of those between Horsey Gap, famous for its breeding colony of grey seals up to the delightful Victorian village of Mundesley.

The Cross Keys in the centre of Dilham is a 10 minute stroll away and serves great homemade food including wood fired sourdough pizzas, along with local beers brewed in the next village AND our guests get a 10% discount on all food.

The Crown in the next village of Smallburgh is a 15 minute walk and also offers a full menu and beer garden.

The Norfolk Broads

Getting out and about on the Norfolk Broads is another must and there are plenty of options from Wroxham, just 15 minutes from the barns.

Choose from a skippered boat trip, day boat hire, kayaks, canoes, a swan pedalo, a trip on a traditional Norfolk Wherry and even a water bike! 

Even closer there are day boat hire options just 3 miles from the barns and canoe hire available in the village, or you can launch your own kayak, canoe or paddle board at Dilham Staite at the end of the driveway.  

Local Towns

Just 6 miles away and considered the capital of the Norfolk Broads Wroxham is home to the Roys of Wroxham retail empire with supermarket, department store, toy store and more together with a selection of other shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants, takaways offering delivery to Dilham, and of course boat hire - see our 'Things to do' page for options for getting on the water. 

 Around 4 miles away, the town of Stalham offers a Tescos supermarket with petrol station and fast electric car charging.  The town also provides a small selection of shops including a butchers, along with  cafes, pubs and takeaways. Day boat hire is available from Stalham Staithe.

You'll find the market town of North Walsham 5.5 miles away with Sainsburys, Waitrose and Lidl supermarkets, and a butchers and bakers, together with a selection of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. 

Even closer

For that emergency pint of milk or to pick up a morning paper there is a Premier shop 2 miles away in Smallburgh.

The A J Meale & Sons Farm Shop is less than 3 miles away at Wayford Bridge which stocks a good selection of fresh foods and a tempting selection of sweet treats - but will you manage to make it out without a visit to Vera's Coffee Shop?
